Unit 7 Blog

I had some great meditative experiences this week. I got very stressed out after a long 10 hour day at work so I decided to just lay in my bed and go to my happy place. I love the ocean so my happy place consists of me imagining being at Myrtle Beach South Carolina again since I was there three months ago. It's so serene and tranquil thinking about the waves rolling in and walking along the beach and picking up sea shells. I could definitely do it all day everyday. it is so important to be able to relax and think about he things that make you happy because psychologically it can help you maintain a positive outlook on life even when you aren't having the best day. God also makes me so happy so that helps me spiritually and keeps me balanced.

  1. Erica,

I love the sound of water and to look at water in any form. The ocean waves are so calming. I would love to sleep on the beach just to hear them. I am surprised that after your long 10 hour day at work, you were able to stay awake for the meditation with the sound of ocean1
When I was younger and living at home with my parents, it was difficult for me to get peace and quiet. I would go in the bathroom and turn on the shower so that no one would disturb me because they thought I was bathing. I would sit in that bathroom for an hour or so just listening to the running water, doing homework, reading a book or just being quiet. My parent’s water bill must have been very high. But I still practice that today. If I’ve had a stressful day I will still retreat to the bathroom and let the shower run as I pray or meditate. Water can be so calming. These exercises could potentially help everyone.
